The town of Beedle needs a new Railway Planner.
Mission: To plan a railway line through the town of
Beedle and to choose the best place for the new railway station.
What to do:
- Print off the map
of Beedle and start thinking about where the tracks might
go. Plan a route through the town and a place for the new
station. Make a note of possible problems and some possible
solutions.
- Find out what people think in
the town. What are their concerns? Make adjustments if needed.
- Find out about environmental concerns when putting in a railway
line. The 'Safeguard our Environment'
information sheet has more information to help.
The plan could include a:
- bridge
- overpass
- tunnel
- road crossing
It may be necessary to:
- pull down some buildings (shops) to make way
for the station
- replace torn down buildings with a new set of
shops etc at the station
- include high fences beside the track to protect
people especially children from wandering on to
the tracks.
