The town of Beedle needs a new Railway Planner.

Mission: To plan a railway line through the town of Beedle and to choose the best place for the new railway station.

What to do:

  1. Print off the map of Beedle and start thinking about where the tracks might go. Plan a route through the town and a place for the new station. Make a note of possible problems and some possible solutions.
  2. Find out what people think in the town. What are their concerns? Make adjustments if needed.
  3. Find out about environmental concerns when putting in a railway line. The 'Safeguard our Environment' information sheet has more information to help.

    The plan could include a:

    • bridge
    • overpass
    • tunnel
    • road crossing

    It may be necessary to:

    • pull down some buildings (shops) to make way for the station
    • replace torn down buildings with a new set of shops etc at the station
    • include high fences beside the track to protect people especially children from wandering on to the tracks.
